Following on from last week’s beginning to the introduction of new cast members for the company we are delighted that Ludlow actor, Tim Mawson, is playing the part of Sir Humphrey Appleby. Tim’s early stage exposure featured a hook putty nose playing opposite Tim McInnerny in a school production – one Tim went onto greater things. In the intervening years his glittering (guttering? Ed) international career has taken him to Brussels, Bolton, Luxembourg, Geneva, The Hague, Stratford, Manchester and Ludlow. From Shakespeare to Pinter and much in-between, his appearances on stage have been received with a mixture of alarm and despondency, be it in Panto, playing Widow Twanky and an ugly sister in Ludlow or, more recently Sebastian in Twelfth Night. His reincarnation of Sir Humphrey brings him back into his comfort zone, having held office in an administrative environment not a million miles a move from Brussels.
